I am happy to announce that I was contacted by a writer in Japan about The Mechanism art piece that made for my first solo-show at the El Paso Museum of Art in 2014. Writer Takuya Suzuki of ARTLOGUE.ORG asked me if I would allow my image to be posted in an article on their website. The topic of the article is how has the Antikythera Mechanism influenced art and artist throughout the world. I was more than happy to let the website use my image and I was asked to write a brief statement about the installation process. I am very grateful to Takuya Suzuki for asking me to be part of this article and for the opportunity to show my art work to a wider audience throughout the world. The article is published in Japanese, so I had to translated it into English so that readers here in the United States can read it. If you want to read the original article in Japanese, please go to ARTLOGUE.ORG.
The Lost Realm Series (2016)
I am happy to announce that I have completed the set of fifty illustrations for the The Lost Realm Series. I hope that in the near future that I will able to have an art show so that everyone can see the entire set. Only a hand full of people have seen them all and I look forward showing them to the public.
I am in the process of creating a new group of wall installations and sculpture pieces called the Mechanical Art Series. I have already designed the first wall installation and am in the process of designing several more. Check back later for progress pictures.
This new logo is a fusion of two logos, The Ternio Group and US Medical System (USMS) logos. They are a medical consulting group out of Sugarland, Texas who are working together as one company. This is the company's new Identity and I hope it serves them well. I wish them the best of luck in their new partnership.
The Mechanism installation is now on display for public viewing and the response has been great. The piece itself is in three separate sections, but is designed to look as one. The reason being is so that I could transport the piece safely. It took two cars to get it there, but is ride there was a bit nerve racking. The assembly process was fun as well. In order install the two side pieces, they have to be almost completely disassembled in order to anchor it to the wall. Once on, I had to carefully reassemble the gears and dials by hand and tightened them with a screw driver. The only piece that was completely intact when mounted is the center piece. The presentation was an amazing experience. I did a thirty minute presentation and those in attendance enjoyed to lecture. This was an incredible experience and I look forward to the next challenge.
The Mechanism is my first wall installation I have created. The piece will be on display on the second floor of the El Paso Museum of Art. It is over eight feet wide and over five feet high. The piece is designed to be an artist view of an ancient device that was discovered at the bottom of the Mediterranean. I wanted to create an art piece that opens up the Antikythera mechanism into several section in order to get a better understanding of it.
This is the logo I created for a group of clients who are starting their own medical consultant group in Sugarland, Texas called The Ternio Group. The original concept by the clients was to fuse the three partners into one logo that resembles an arrow. I decided to design the three T's into the arrow head and tried to keep the lines clean and the idea simple. Now with the identity established, the Ternio Group can now move ahead with business and I wish them great success.
The project is currently under construction. I have assembled all the parts and I am getting to work. I look forward to seeing the project completed, so that everyone can see the artwork in September.
The second show for the El Paso Illustrator Collective will be today at Hope and Anchor titled "Be Cool". It is at 4012 N.Mesa from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM. All are welcome to attend.

It includes the two poster flyers, ticket flyer, and the EPIC logo I designed. The illustrations are drawings that I did for the show, which are Tim Hardaway, Danny Olivas, Gene Roddenberry, and John Wesley Harding.
